Talking 1/12th Renault F-1 Completed!!! (56K users Beware)

I finally finished up the 1/12th Renault....the first kit to the start of my collection ! Here are a few pics of the finished product. I have also included a link to the progress thread for this kit if you would like to see it: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...readid=103116. Enjoy!

Thanks! I have to give a lot of credit to the people on this message board for helping me answer my "newbie" questions. The FAQ was awesome too....I definitely learned a lot there. I actually made a lot of mistakes a long the way especially with painting/spraying the kit. I had to paint the cowling 3 times because I got such terrible results the first 2 times (wasted paint+wasted $$$+wasted time=gained experience). The only problem I seem to have now....like many other members here....is that I am buying more kits then I can build! I still have two more kits coming in the mail !

Fantastic modeling!
Very clean engine bay, and body!

This must be one of the best F1's I ve seen in 1/12th scale, and that for a first model !
incredible !

Also, I don't know what it is about the car, but the sides (where it 's all white area) seem a bit awkward to me ???Isn't a decal supposed to go there ? (thinking labatt's ??))

I might just be very wrong, but your model still is very right !

I've the same model waiting for me to asemble it, but... where did you get the camel decals?? I've ordered to hobbysearch a decal clear sheet to make my own decals, but... I've readed that it might look a bit green due to the yellow colour under, so... I'll try it in a place of plastic, or in an old model, but if it doesnt work.. where can I buy the camel decals??

And.... it's an awesome job for!! and more if its your first model, the mirror like glossy.... in you first model... amazing!!

My only thought about this kit is that the blue is a little to light, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

So now onto the compliments!!
Very clean paint work, nice touches of detail on the engine and overall it "looks" AOK. And that's what modeling is all about. The model should look good and the builder should have had fun on the way of building it. So mission accomplished for this one!!!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. It's nice to see the hard work appreciated.

You can order the decals from F1 Specialties. As far as the green goes...I don't notice any color change.

You’re totally right Huudo.
In the progress thread the blue looks much more darker but now with this light
in this photos it looks like it's not a perfect match with the "elf blue" used in the
real car. But photos don’t always show the true colour.
The important is that you have done a great work Deejay27, the car looks fantastic.
If someone asked me if this was a first time job or a model made by someone with some years of experience I for sure would go for the second option.
I’ll be waiting for some news about your future projects.
