it depends... i use all 3m products for the prewax... rubbing compound, and all that stuff...

finish it with meguiars usually, but i experiment alot...

blitz wax works great... but it's hard to get off... works wonders though... (not like blitz the tuner)

www.zainobros.com
their stuff works great... i've seen it in person on my friends truck...

lots of good info there too..

the best wax is made by griots garage. they have an entire wax kit that took me a full 2 days to do and my car looks better than it did comming off of the showroom floor, even thought it was just sitting on the lot, but work with me here. I suggest them very highly, but they can be a little pricy. If you aren't going for something that will win awards and just make your car look good, go for meguires or turtle wax. also, try claying your car before you wax. it makes a world of difference. Mothers makes good clay and so does griots garage, depending on how abrasive you need it.

I myself like to use Enhancer, which is a creme wax made by Malco, a detail supply chain. I dont think they sell to stores, but I think that they sell to parts counters of dealerships who use their products in their detail bay, at least thats how it works where I work. but yeah, great wax, goes on great, comes off great.

I will never use turtle wax on my car again, that shit stops beading after like 2 weeks. I use rain dance.

Detailing made easy

although the idea of using a buffer on your paint may seem a liitle crazy, I think you will agree that this all new way of buffing that System One describes is as easy as it could ever get.
It works with one product, that means no more messy compound or swirl marks. I've used it and it really does work.
If your are interested in polishing paint take a look at the site www.systemoneproducts.com there's a video under training
good luck and happy detailing

i recently had my caprice repainted and since then every possible moment i am washing/waxing the car - can't seem to let it get dirty. anyway, thought i'd pass on my suggestions about waxes. i've tried alot of the stuff on the market and i have to say that the car waxes/polishes that are SUPPOSED to last a year of course don't last 2 weeks in my opinion. i have been using Meguiars for quite a few years on all of my vehicles and it works pretty good at least better than the competition out there. i recently used the Meguiars carnuba wax and was really impressed. went on good and came off just as well. i've also used Mother's carnuba wax and the cleaner wax which i don't feel really cleans that well, at least the rag isn't dirty like when using Meguiar's cleaner/wax. by the way what's the difference between Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax and Meguiar's Paint Cleaner in the 3-step process?
P.S. I also tried Zymol which is a cleaner/wax and was not too impressed with it either considering the price.

The finest wax I have ever used has got to be Best of Show by Griot's Garage. It comes in a cool 16oz bottle w/ a trick pop up top. At 20 bucks, its not cheap, but nothing comes close to offering the same shine. Thier line of polish is safe and easy to clean up after. Hey if you don't like it, they will take it back and refund the total.

One of the best product lines I've ever used in Zaino, but it is rather expensive and not available in retail stores. Damn Good stuff though... It will make your car look wet!

meguiar's cleaner wax and carnuba

what's the diff?
suppose i wash then wax.
why would i use one or the other?
oh yeah, i live on the west coast so rain is not a problem but being near the ocean is.

i just finished up my turtle products and got
meguiar's for a try:
*deep crystal car wash
*vinyl and rubber conditioner
(even turtle's made the tires look great}
*all wheel cleaner
(though i believe simple green will win in the end, but figured i'd try it)
*cleaner wax - just went to the site and saw that this contains silicones - not good?

i've heard of 'back to black' and 'forever black'. and there was a meguiar's product which i didn't get - how is it?
the interior is in great shape, this would be for the rubber mouldings - they look okay but since i also got spray paint for the outside trim, wipers and grill - well in for a penny...
