1995 civic ex

what do i have to do to the engine to run 15 psi of boost? and how much would i expect to pay? upwards of 5-6 grand for the kit whith internal engine rebuilds basicly with new cam gears and all that shit i just need to know what i need to get so i can start saving all my summer money

I'm not totaly sure(So Dont Flame Me)but maybe resleave your block so it can handle more boost.

Theres probably alot more you can do but im a newbie sorry.

You should get new low compression pistons, new rods, change your fuel system (fuel pump, fuel rail, FMU and Injectors), ecu or piggyback and resleeve your block. At least that's what I'm gonna do to my B16A2, and should be reaching around 18 PSI (hopefully) on Peru's 97 octane gas (which I have heard is different from USA's gas).

Octane is a standard rating, the gas may be different, but 97 octane will always be 97 octane. With proper tuning there's no reason to resleeve the block. You wont even NEED to get low compression pistons and rods. We've had a guy here running 16psi on race gas with tuning makeing 300whp on a D16Y8 motor.

Proper tuning, and fuel are what you need.

To run this much boost you will need to do some decent work or you could just pray alot. The right way to do it would be this. not sure what motor you're running though.
Block-
*resleeve up to a 84.5mm bore on a B18 or 84mm bore on a B16
*crower rods, eagle are good, but you will honestly be wanting to make more than 400whp after you get that first touch of boost.
*pistons and headgasket-Arias pistons. If you go low comp. pistons just run a stock headgasket, that's what i do and alot of people do. But i'll be trying something new, that should keep temps down so i'll give you that option also. You would go with aftermarket pistons, but go with stock compression and get a low comp. headgasket. This will keep temps down better, i can't explain why in full detail, but it's something i've been talking about with the shop.
Head-
*stock has ran upwards of 450whp for me, so i can't complain. But i would recommend at least better springs and retainers. I don't believe in turbo vtec cams for our cars, I haven't seen one produced that hasn't broke yet. skunk2, crower, ferrea(spelling) are all great valve train components.
*ARP headstuds, heads lift under high hp, use them.
*STR or Venom intake manifold, skunk2 if you're on a budget
Fuel system-
*Hondata, i can't stress it enough. S200 w/boost is all you'll need.
*880cc injectors, they are big, but you don't want to have to keep buying bigger when you want to up the boost.
*255lph intank pump or aeromotive if you want to be a baller
*high flow fuel rail
This is just some of the stuff off the top of my head. The fuel system and tunning will be the most crucial part. Now on the praying section, you could honestly just do a headgasket and 440cc's, afc, fmu, and intank pump and run 1bar daily. I've seen it done. The car just made 346whp on a stock gsr motor with that setup.

Yeah, are you going to pay for the gas for him? Race gas, thats like 4 bucks a gallon isn't it?
And what are the specs on that D16? He definitely wasn't running the stock rods, they snap at like 8-10 PSI. Proper tuning is always good but for a daily driver you need to lower your CR and run pump gas. It's also WAY easier to tune when you lower your CR.

I don't know if it was already mentioned, but make sure to look also into the fact that the added horsepower could be hard on stock axle parts(esp if the car was only built to run 130-150hp). torque steer will be sweet and mad fun, but you want to make sure that if you are planning on keeping the car for a while you look into all the stuff that might keep you from ending up in a ditch because you broke your axle or center link crap. My friend and his sweet conquest had an experience with that. He hit the gas at a stop sign and snapped a "whatchamafuckit" or axle something and can't drive his car now. If green money doesn't fall into your lap everyday think long term so you don't have problems down the road.

It happens with both front wheel and rear wheel. Sorry about that example...my bad. I just don't really know what to call that damn part of the drivetrain.

I believe torque steer is only a phenomena that happens in FWD vehicles.

The guy who built my car said i could run 10psi daily but just to be safe 6-7 and this is with bone stock internals ok this dude f&^!ing knows his shit when it comes to turbos. ive run 10 psi before no prob and i usually hit about 8 psi alot daily drivin. for 15lbs of boost just get pistons rods and a block gaurd much cheaper than resleaving. if u want to go insane with boost close deck the block. But dont trust the stock internals and dont waste ur money on resleaving if ur just going 15lb's not necesary jsut a block gaurd but make sure its installed right no one likes block guards cus they dont put them on right.

Yeah, I know I know that paragraph was poor. I'll put it into English. If you have lots of power, you need drivetrain parts to handle the power. My friend broke something on his drivetrain because the power was too much for the old Conquest. But, since your car is FWD the torque steer with all the added horsepower will be fun. Just make sure you look into what you might need (as far as drivetrain parts).
