So Father's Day came and passed and I didnt get anything for my dad. I decided what better way to show him that I still care, than to build him a model car. So here it is:





I couldnt decide which tire/wheel combo to use... But eventually I decided on the first ones.

Off to a great start, and I agree with your wheel choice. as for pets and models, I have to keep my chrome all boxed up, or my cat gets the wheels, or small shiny bits and takes them into the kitchen and chases them around.

I finally sat down and got quite a bit done. The car is almost done, and I will be paiting it a semi-gloss black. This is the first time that I have weathered a kit so be nice, I think it looks really good actually. I also added a little hint of carbon fiber to the top of the radiator because the paint didnt want to stick to that part.



Before anyone gives me crap about sucking at painting, the engine is supposed to have a dirty look to it. I went for a car that is driven daily look instead of a car that just sits in the garage and gets cleaned daily look.














Interior is complete!




The zip tie was used to hold the hood up, and also because the front bumper didnt want to stay on while the glue dried.

Before I go into a great big schpeele of what improvements could be made, I must first ask if you are a beginning modeller? If you are, then you are doing a great job. All your parts are well coated, and fit is great considering the kit. I'd invest in some foam backed sanding sticks from the local beauty store to take care of the part seams and glue beads that leak from them. Parts could use a bit of extra clean up of flash.

The motor and chassis look really good. A suggestion would be to give the parts a "grime wash" rather than drybrushing the "grease" on.

Really you are doing a great job, and you seem to be taking your time with it, which is good. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's all done.

This would be my 4th model, and compared to the three before it, it looks amazing. The previous three look like a retarded 3 year old put them together, so this one isnt half bad. I had a MAJOR problem with the fitment of the front bumper of this car, to where its almost impossible to glue it in place and have it stay in place long enough to dry. But I got the paint down, its not 100% perfect, and thats kinda what I was aiming for. It looks great from about two feet out, but once you get closer, you start to see bubling, which goes great with the whole "daily driven" image I was going for. I am almost done with this kit, and will be moving to the Tamiya Supra or S2000 hardtop.

Here are the pictures of the painted body. I think the semigloss black and blue stickers looks AMAZING!



You can see on this picture what I meant by the front bumper being a pain in my A$$...


Fortunatley, that huge gap between the bumper and the hood can be fixed by pushing the hood a little bit foreward, but none the less, fitment on this kit was not up to par.
