Hi, we have a 1997 Dodge 350 Diesel Dually that we purchased new. Periodically we experience a strange hissing noise coming from the steering colume (sp?) and true to form, everytime we take into a Dodge Dealer, the noise disappears. My son says it is a hydrolic noise. The local dealer says it is just the power steering fluid moving around?
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any ideas, or suggestions? Thanks

I don't have the experience, but I would assume that it might be part of the functionality of the truck. Could be something with the powersteering. If it is presenting a problem as opposed to a minor inconvenience, I would have the dealer look at it.

That happens in my 85' Jeep. That is all I can figure, if your PS fluid is full then I wouldn't worry about it.
