Help! Getting carbon build up....

I saw a site that showed how to get the carbon build up out of the exhaust pipe but I can't remeber where. Does anyone know how to do this. My cousin and I need to know because it's all shiny on the out side and black on the inside. Please help.

I used a water hose and reg detergent. It didn't help. It is the black stuff inside your pipe. Maybe I'll post a pic of what I am talking about in a few.

scrape it out with steel wool. Watch out it might get your hands a little dirty
