Re: Progress Thread: Impreza Corsica 2001

OOOO looks nice!
Any problems with the Orange decal cracking?
My set looks like they are very brittle/cracking and I'm thinking of painting the stripes.

Keep up the good work!

Chris

They're not so much as brittle, as they are a challenge to get around the corners. I've had to make several cuts in the decals just to get them to lay better. IMO they could be a little thinner. I'm going to be going through a lot of Microsol on this project. Looking back, I think I would have had a better chance laying down paint for the stripes.

Re: Progress Thread: Impreza Corsica 2001

Decals are looking good, making them conform with setting solution and heat is all the fun!
So there are still a few Arai kits out there...

Re: Re: Progress Thread: Impreza Corsica 2001

Thanks for all the good words and motivation. I hope to get a majority of it completed this weekend.

RallyRaider, it did take me awhile to locate an Arai kit, but I finally found one here:
Weber Plastic Models

Since the wheels have already been donated, I originally thought of doing a street conversion. Although now, due to it's apparent rarity I'm reconsidering... Arai version progress thread coming soon!

Well, finally completed over the weekend. I know there are still some wrinkles in the stripes I need to straighten out, but not too bad for a novice decaler.

comments welcome!
