Well since Dayna asked so nicely...

Quote:
That engine is for a AWD car, if your gonna even attempt to put it in the 240sx get some other skyline engine thats ment to be rear wheel drive.
As far as I know, the RB25DET is ment [sic] for rear-wheel drive Skyline applications (GTS-T models, no?). I believe you're thinking of the RB26DETT from the GT-R models, which is indeed, from what I've read, rather hard to transplant into Silvias because of the AWD complications.

oh yeh, i think that new infinitie is pretty much the same thing as the new skyline so why dont you get that instead of spending all that on the swap and the car? I may be wrong about that the new infinitie G35 being the same as the skyline, i went to the skyline forums and asked awile ago, they couldnt even figure it out.
Indeed, the Infiniti G35 Sedan and Coupe are rebadged versions of the Nissan Skyline, but, they use the new VQ series V-6 engine, not the beloved I-6 that has powered previous Skylines. Mmkay?

Also if I am not mistaken it is the Tranny that determines (for the most part) what drive type you have.

Where can he get this elusive RB25DETT because as far as I knew Nissan never twin turboed the RB25, but they did the RB26. The RB25 came in the R33 Skyline GTS-T and the RB26DETT came in the R32, R33, and R34 GT-R Skylines which were AWD.

RB, SR, KA=series of the engine
24,25,26=displacement(2.4Liters, 2.5Liters, 2.6Liters
D=Dual overhead cam
E=Electronic Fuel Injection
T=Turbo
TT=Twin Turbo
I belive that there was a VET variant somewhere along the way but I cant remember what exactly the mysterious "V" stand for.

If you need help installing the motor, I would be glad to do it fo ryou if you are in the Northeast.

Good luck

Could we please just stick to why I created this thread? Does anyone on the forums have a 240SX for sale in Georgia or north Florida?

Terribly sorry for the aberration, mate. Have you tried various other car searches aside from AutoTrader? www.cars.com has an OK used car search, and for Georgia, maybe the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has some online classifieds? I would think a city that size would have a few 240s for sale, but then again, I haven't seen many pop up for sale here in Dallas. Anyway, I hope you find what you're looking for.

So your finger slipped many times on your posts? Please do more research on the car before you buy it. Why would you buy a car you know nothing about?

Yes smart ass, I have a coordination disorder. I have problems with my left hand, therefore I mis-type very often and what spell check doesn't catch (IE the RB25DET which isn't a WORD) comes out wrong sometimes. Listen I'm not here to get gilled on one mistake, I asked a simple question, so lay off
