Lawsuit to stop the war?

I was watching Donahue last night on MSNBC and the topic up for debate was whether or not the war on Iraq was legal. This topic came to life in light of the events of service men from the American Military, their parents, as well as parents from those who have been killed in action, filing a lawsuit claiming that war has not been delcared on Iraq by congress. It states in the constitution that in order to declare war on another country, the president must have complete approval from congress before he make the declaration of war. The argument of course is that he did not. However, the war powers act states otherwise, as does one of the attorneys who will be handling this case. In his research he has found that the President has already recieve approval from the congress to deploy his troops and to head an invasion. What I believe in this matter is irrelevant, simply because all of my opinions are based on what I believe as a person, and personal beliefs in times such as this really mean diddly-squat. So, what do you think of all this.

War is never necessary.

It's generally agreed this is an unnecessary war, and is entirely motivated by greed, as many wars are.

War is a necessary part of the US economy

So what are you waiting for?Enlist, get shot, die for your country and then we can all forget you.Anybody who thinks this is a morally justifiable war should sign up,or shut up.

The idea that this war can be stopped with a lawsuit is incredibly naive.Bush has told too many lies, too many times, to back down now. There will be a war,and I'm willing to bet that, just as with the attack on Afghanistan, the U.S. will FAIL to find its primary target.Osama is still out there somewhere, and the chances of finding any undeclared weapons in Iraq are less than zero.Bet the Marines find oil, though, and lots of it.....

They had a Lawyer on there talking to the plaintiffs attorney, and he said the same thing. I very much agree. The UN cant even stop this war(go figure ) so how do they expect a lawsuit to change anything. Im really starting to get irritated with this whole Iraq situation. Naki, can I come live with you?

I find it amusing the only people who believe the UN is useless are the right wing Americans who have the most to gain by it's demise.

That is one of the stupidest and most ignorant statements I have heard in my life.
I don't understand how parents protesting their children's likely death for greed of a bunch of politicians makes them 'stupid.'

Listen to John Lennon's Imagine.

I have no need to. Powell did it. Heck those useless inspectors have even found some. He hasn't accounted for the ones everyone knows he had.

When did Powell travel to Iraq?

Powell provided nothing substantial, and was actually scorned by some member nations for wasting the time of the assembly. His "damning evidence" was mostly out of date student papers given to him by the British

We're shown bulldozers clearing some land, and we're told they are removing traces of chemicals. That's preposterous, the inspectors visited those sites, and there were no residual chemicals. Of course, the very fact that there were no traces, proves that the US intel was correct, right?
