I think he was saying he already has the h22 and is asking whether to keep that or the h23. At least thats the way I read it. So out of curosity would you pick a h23 block with a b18c head over the h22a? Ha and I'm only a ticket behind you so watch out...:flash:

i think he means putting a h22 head on a h23 block, which is just like a lsvtec, but alot more powerful. but i dont like head swaps. the h22a is a good motor anyways, just run like 10psi, and youll be making about 300hp

I wouldn't do it that high. H22 sleeves SUCK! I would resleeve it first. H22 and h23 are not much different in torque specs. Its only like 2 lbs difference.
92-96 Si / Se H23A1 4G - BB2 2258 9.8 : 1 160 @
5800 rpm 156 lb/ft @4500 rpm USA

94-96 Vtec H22A1 4G - BB1 2156 10.0 : 1 190 @
6800 rpm 158 lb/ft @ 5500 rpm

not much difference. IF you have high mileage on it just rebuild it.

do you already have a h22? An h22a, h22a1 or h22a2 are going to be the best bolt in swaps for a 4th gen prelude. Then again you could always do a h23 block with an h22 head as suggested (good turbo motor). Here's everything you would need for that conversion. VTEC head, complete: cams, gears, rockers, valve cover, VTEC timing belt- VTEC has more teeth on the belt than the Si does,VTEC water pump, VTEC auto hydraulic tensioner for timing belt, VTEC manual tensioner, VTEC head gasket,VTEC lower, most inner crankshaft pulley, (96 is different due to sensors) VTEC intake manifold, VTEC exhaust manifold, VTEC ECU/ECM, VTEC injectors - if you don't change these over, then once you plug in the ECU/ECM you will keep blowing the 'EAT ECU' fuse when you crank/start the car,VTEC spark plugs and wires, VTEC water pump pipe -black pipe that runs behind the head from the water pump to thermostat housing-. but if you already have an h22 I'd stick with that motor.
