my intake vs. my battery

Ok I bought an AEM from decepticon racing looks great but it seems that evey intake I get always hits the underneath of my hood because the battery pins the intake close to the hood. I was thinking of moving my battery to the trunk in a battery box also eliminate that corosion. Whats your opinion of putting the batery back there? where can you get cable that long? Or is it even worth it? Do you have that intake prob?

Or you could get a drycell battery and put it on its side...

my stupid intake touched the positive terminal of my battery and the firewall and burned a hole big enough to stick your thumb in. Im suprised i didnt burn up my ECU when that happened

I'm planning on re-locating my battery...

I've already bought the cable and terminals from Jegs, and going to buy a Excide Orbital (Badass sealed battery, $175 retail) and the circuit breaker and stuff... That will give me plenty of extra space in the engine bay to build a custom intake tube and place the filter where the battery was. And later for the turbo piping...

I thought about relocating my battery, but wouldnt that take more power to start the car then with a longer battery cable being more resistance in the starting circuit???

I relocated my bettery to the hatch. I bought a boat battery box from Advance Auto and already had 4 gauge wire ran becuase of a previous stereo install. Overall, it was a quick and easy mod that you will thank yourself for later a million times. (no battery in the way of intakes, no risk of fire becuase of a spark on the intake, you'll find things)

wow, it's a good thing i'm married to mac gyver. he thinks up all kinds of cool little things. my intake was hitting the battery as well. but instead of relocating the battery, he modified the battery tray. he took it out...pounded it a little.....and now the tray sits lower. everything fits and now nothing rubs. i think it took maybe 30 mins.

I have no room in the back of my hatch because of stereo shit and my nitrious bottle, so relocating to the trunk is out anyway. Maybe i need to "pound" it a little and just lower where the battery sits....thanx for the idea Ami , your my hero.....
