ebay intake vs airaid quick-fit intake
im looking to start adding boltons to my new truck and im looking for opinions on intakes (yes i will be puting a performance exhaust on first). I want to know which intake works better on the 96+ blazers, an ebay intake like this; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-97...QQcmdZViewItem
or the airaid quick fit intake that uses the base of the stock airbox; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1. The ebay intake does not have a heat shield but the pipe may straighten airflow a bit before the MAF where as the airaid uses the factory base as a shield and the filter attatches directly to the MAF. just lookin to see which would be better.

Re: ebay intake vs airaid quick-fit intake
The airaid attaches to the top of the airbox, so I wonder where it would actually draw most of its air from...Not worth the $100 I'd say. You could add a heat shield to the eBay version, like they did at sshotrods.com. Mind you, I'm real cheap and cut out the stock air box along with the drop-in K&N I already had. It's almost the same surface area as the cone filters, and cost nothing but time.

Re: ebay intake vs airaid quick-fit intake
i like the airaid cause its pretty shielded from the heat and seals to the hood. if i got that one i would probably just cut the hole in the front of the box bigger. would the filter being attatched to the MAF affect readings? the pipe from the ebay kit would straighten out the flow a bit before the sensor. im undecided so im just lookin for opinions here.
