Night of unexpected fun!
Well, sence I bought that 100oct gas I didnt want it to go to waste. Me and DMC12 decided to take the bird out for a quick rally and see what we could find. Lemme tell you...it was dissapointing, it was the night of the old people...untill we found this volvo...thing...which said BORA on the back. I followed it onto the freeyway, and he didnt want to go, so I tryed to get a cobra to go for it, he looked at me funny and siped his smothie and obviously you know how that went. So on my way back home I roll up to this 94(?) 4 door Accord with a major body mod, fart can, and proper loweing...no thousand bounce per foot shit. Well, were crusing along and I figure he wont go for it but then suddenly he downshifts and floors it, so I let him catch up before I give it some gas and bait him because we had a red, he passes me up and we make it to a light. Well, neather of us launch when it turns green *I was going to, but I figured it wasnt worth it on a accord* and were off, you can hear his fart can buzzing like a hoard of angry wasps as he trys to keep up and I pull hard past him only to have a minivan cut me off, so he buzzes past and I jet after him pulling hard. We arrive at another light, no cars ahead of us. Still neather of us launch but were flying down the street and by 70 I had 4 car lenghts on him at least. I gave him a thumbs up and he flashed his emergencys at me and I went home. (his girl *forgot to mention her, she was his passenger* didnt look impressed by his car
) Well, on my way to work a 71 camaro pulls onto the road i'm on and I pull along side, were both going about 45 and I jet ahead a bit and wait till he catches up, and when he does he floors it and so I do the same. Were both pulling about the same untill 70 when I start pulling on him, by 85 I had him at my rear bumper and I let off, I won, no need to risk getting a ticket to prove something more. All in all, a damn fine night (and after work I got to check out a guys mini cooper S, man the interior is kick ass!)

Re: Night of unexpected fun!
That was cool & well-needed rallying after the stresses of the day and probably prevented me from going out and murdering someone. The "BORA" was actually a new body style VW Jetta. Who knows why you'd re-badge a Jetta but whatever. Yes, the girl in the Accord didn't look impressed

SWEET KILL!!! I love it when people soup family accords. any 4-door honda that gets souped is...
[FILLINTHEBLANK]______________[/FILLINTHEBLANK] I think the whole mentality of that is that mommy and daddy got them a car so they couldn't choose between the 2-door or 4-door thing but since it's an "import", they can soup it anyways. Oh that 4-door thing? who cares... prolly nobody will notice anyways! Mini coopers are goofy looking! I'll admit. The interior's nice, and they're fast. But I hate the way they look. My neighbor has one. I'm not too Impressed. Expecially since my next door neighbor on the other side has a white Corvette Z06. And I'm in the middle with a homely import.

whats wrong with hopping up a 4 door family sedan? thats how a sleeper becomes a sleeper! i know my mom's 4 door accord(all stock) isnt that fast, but its fun to drive. and you'd be surprised how many cars are slower than my mom's high 15 second car:alien:

Hey, too bad the cobra didnt want any. Those darn smothies can be addictive. Good job with the camaro and mandatory stomping of the ricer accord.

Nice kill!
![]() Don’t mean to sound like a total moron or anything, but would 100 octane make a difference in your car with it being a domestic and not tuned for the higher octane fuel. Also while we are on the topic of octane (sort of ) I also had a debate in OT about higher octane fuel and how my car doesn’t perform as well with lower octane fuel (96 as opposed to 98) and I basically got told that it was all in my head.

At higher rpm's the higher oct fuel dosent pre-detanote with heat, thus once warmed up some it actually will fire better. Ontop of that because I have an EFI with an EEC *fuel injected with a comp controlling it* it puts less in on normal driving because it sences its too rich, but when I romp on it, the timing retards and it puts some more in as it also draws in a buttload of air, giving me more power. Granted I dont have an 11.5-1 compression ratio engine, I dont -need- it but it helps. Muscle heads with carbs for high tech equipment would argue it dosent help, but they know nothing of electronic systems. Your car does much the same thing, but also you have a very refined turbo system, and with the higher oct fuel, it can take more boost and use the same ammount of gas. The reason being it takes more to burn it so more air into the mixture. Example *not scientifically correct, but it gets the idea across* 87oct-1,000 parts air 91oct-2,500Air 100oct-4,000Air so if it leans it way out, you use alot less gas for the same burn. And on WOT *wide open throdle* you can take alot more air, and thus more power. Your car -needs- higher oct, and very high dosent hurt, it helps alot Mine it helps some, no real big bonus really. Maby like 5 hp or something.

Yes, especially if you have a turbo. It is suggested that you run only 91 octane or higher. I definitely saw a difference when I ran 120 octane, I even saw a big difference over 100 octane. A stock Honda Civic isn't going to benefit from 91 octane, but a Skyline will, no question. And if you are a turbo, then you should run 91 at the lowest. It mainly depends on how your engine is tuned.
