what's better than the smell of a new kit?

the smell of an old out of production kit!!!

lookie what I picked up the other day!!

I'd almost hate to build this one. I may make a rubber mold of the front end so I can build several from newer kits!! hahaha!! it is becoming harder and harder to find the pignose 180/240SX. I plan on a pignose coupe in the near future.

I also have the Tamiya pignose hatch. that is nearly a unicorn in my book.

So you're saying maybe I shouldn't chop off the front end of my Tamiya 180SX kit? WTF else will I do with this SAS bumper?

You're supposed to make one yourself, you know?

Anyway, that's one of the better Fujimi kits (of the pre Rosso-spin-off era), so I might get a hold of one myself. Maybe both the Fujimi and Tamiya ones.

Re: what's better than the smell of a new kit?

yeah, unfortunately, the roof is tweaked really bad, so I'll likely be building new "A" pillars when I get around to building this. something else I noticed, the box shows some mesh wheels with impul caps to put on it, with racing tires, but it isn't ON the model or in the box. could it be that the guy I got it from took the wheels and forgot to inform me of this, or that they are advertizing dressup parts that are available?

Check it on Hobby Search - only one set of wheels pictured or mentioned in the parts layout.

Don't forget, it's still Fujimi!

Re: what's better than the smell of a new kit?

yelo: no, actually that's good news. that means my kit IS complete!! although the meshies would have looked SICK!!!! on the pignose hatch. and about the bumper, do you mean you have just the lower part, or did you cut the front end from one of your kits? if you cut the front end off, then by all means, I'd love to get it from you!

Re: what's better than the smell of a new kit?

Well, I felted sorry for you 'cause I was when I bough mine...

For the bumper, here's what I did with mine:

I cut it where's the little black line is (joint between the bumper and fender) so I got the lower part from the kit and about a 1/4 inch from the body to offer...
