Latest Project: Ford Focus WRC '01

Here's a quick pic of my latest finished project, Tamiya's Ford Focus WRC '01. The kit went together without any problems as expected, there are the usual upgrades such as proper seatbelts, metal aerials and bases and the Studio 27 photo-etch upgrade kit (well worthwhile).

Hope you like it.

Steve

Next project: Peugeot 206 WRC 2001

Steve,
Great Job!!
Ironically I am about to start the same car and even have the same upgrades as you to use(Studio27 belts and the photo etch etc.), is there anything I should look out for in building this, any tips? Anything you can tell me I would be most grateful to know
Thanks,
Ray

A surprise build, eh? Nice work!

We need to get you interested in building a couple dioramas. So far I'm thinking Le Mans pit garages and a nice Rally staging area. That way you could show them [in groups] all off in one overwhelming display.

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated.

Freakray, panel lines I have thought about before but I often think sometimes they look too thick and VERY easy to mess up so I don't bother, nothing really to look out for when building though, goes together very easily.

Vric, I used TS-51 as Tamiya recommed, it is a spot on match for the blue decals for the front bumper, masking was quite awkward though, sprayed the whole car white first then placed masking tape around the area where white and blue meet, then I cut out the side stripes along the edge of the colour and taped them in place temporarily and then carefully cut along the edge of the decal, removed the decal and the masking tape below the line I had cut leaving tape on the area to stay white. The rear was not quite so easy as the stripes are in several pieces, here I had to guess a little but by cutting out the pieces and holding them roughly in place you can see where you need to mask.

Jay, Diorama's!! I've got another cabinet to fill full of models nevermind building rally stages/service areas and pit lanes and garages!!!

Steve
