New project: Ford Focus RS road car.

this is a project to get me motivated and back into modelling! I know I have more unfinished kits than I could ever finish, but I need motivation! Playing GT Concept and the latest EVO have inspired me to model this...

The early Tamiya WRC Focus is a great start, and the kit will be based on this.
Pics as usual. Wish me luck, it's been a while!!!

Good luck, Dan

If it helps in any way, the colour code for "Imperial Blue" is MXYEWWA - maybe you'll be able to match paint according to this

I've just been perusing the car mags down the shop which are all plastered with the Focus RS and thought it would be a good project to do. At the same time I wondered how long it would take for someone to start one.

Welcome back, get stuck in!

Excellent choice. The front bumper and lines remind me of the 350Z..

Very cool project. I love the RS, sad it's not available in the US. The Focus SVT is nice, but 170hp isn't enough to get me too excited. Plus I'd likely never own another Ford after my disastrous experience years ago with my '90 Taurus SHI. Typo intended.

Keep us apprised of the buildup and the modifications.

Are you aware that Maisto is doing a 1/24th Focus SVT? That'll be the first "stock" bodied Focus, and will have stock interior stuff. Though the Tamiya car is certainly the way to go for a Tuner.

Excellent, I may raid that for the interior. The seats are very similar to the WRC cars but the dash will need some work! I want to tinit the windows though so that will mask some of the inaccuracies!

good idea! the tamiya wrc is a nice kit, lip is a bit different though

i think there are going to be focuses(foci?) in the british touring car championship this year. some kind of mutant turbo diesel on 'roids to fill the blue oval void since they pulled the mondeo in '00.
