I don't expect a lot of discussion on this but I thought I'd just let you all know. Today I was helping a friend install his Motivational upper strut mounts when I got kind of bored and installed my cam sprocket I had laying around. As per the recommendation of Mike Kojima (contributor to SCC) retarding the exhaust cam by ~2degrees will give you more low/mid range torque at the expense of some high range hp, if you have JWT cams (S3).
Well I did what he said and it only took 1 1/2 hour. I've done 2 1/2 cam installs to this point so I know whats going on under there.

Anyway the end results are pretty interesing. My test drive was very impressive. I think I have regained all my torque and then some, as per my 135/130 dyno. I don't have qualitative data yet but I will get on the dyno again in the next month or so. In first gear at WOT from about 5500rpm it feels like the front tires are just barely holding traction. I love it!
However I do have a problem that looks pretty solvable. I have this high pitch whine coming from the engine. It sounds almost like a small supercharger or blower. Well I did a little research on the main SE-R list archive and came up with this post:

My symptoms are at the bottom. So I'll crack open the VC again tomorrow and see if I can fix it.
