F***ing Asian drivers
Sup all
Just thought I would share with you an experience I had today while in Auckland on Business...... Well any way I was in a rental Ford Falcon when this Asian woman in a massive Mercedes S320 pulls out in front of me without looking, I end up slamming on the anchors , managing to skid to safety, but that wasn't the end of it. As we were driving through Parnell I was stuck behind her while she was driving at snails pace (40kph to be exact) when as we approach a small corner she slows down to about 20 sending me into the back of her. The damage to her car was minimal and there was only a smashed headlight and minor bumper damage done to my car, but the question remains.......Where do these Asian drivers that flood into New Zealand get thier licenses from?? a Wheet-Bix packet?????? Because this isn't the first time this has happened to me....Anyone else had an experience like this??? No offense was intended at Asian AF members

Yeah I know what your talking about, only I have to live with it.
Although I have to say that its not asian drivers, but Auckland drivers in general. Thier all shit! Just shit in different ways. One thing about most of the new to NZ asian drivers, watch them in really heavy traffic, I bet theres no way you could keep up with them. Thier just not used to being able to do more than 40kph on the road, so they have no skills at driving fast, but they are skilled at driving in heavy traffic. Just like we tend to think were more skilled at driving on the open road. (which we're not, we're just more confident through our ignornace) And just note: it was you who crashed into her, not the other way round.

I wonder to where half the people in NZ get there bloody driving skills from also. 50% OF PEOPLE HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A INDICATOR. How many know the right hand rule ??? How many know the open speed limit. Slow drivers always hug the gutter doing 35km and you have no idea what there next move is. The list goes on and on !!! I hate driving around having to think for everone else on the road too.

In Asia people came from ultra small street with very little space for error. I guess when they get to big roads like those in NZ they are not use to it.

It's a lot better now though. From what i've seen up your way you have all 4 lanes down to 20km at peak hour !!!! Mind you its been 12 years since i was last up that way. The last time I was there i got caught in a hold up on the highway after some smash. Took about 2-3 hours to get though...was not a happy camper

Yeah its pretty bad at rush hour, and its getting worse during the day.
Forunatly Im far enough away that it donst really affect me, and my lecture times wern't at odd hours. At the mo it takes 40min outside of rush hour to get into the city, in rush hour anywhere from 1-2hours.

LOL
:hehehe: Its not the new arrivals from Asia that are the problem, they are usually reasonably skilled. Its the people who get their licenses in NZ. New Zealand has pathetic level of driver training. I bet 90% of drivers out there wont even have a clue how to take the car out of a skid, and I know for a fact that nearly 100% of NZ drivers havent a goddamn clue how to overtake properly on two-lane roads. The stupid dorks pull right up to the tail of the front car, then they wait for a space and ONLY THEN they start accelerating Of course their car usually doesnt have enough power to accererate fast enough, and they end up taking forever, putting their own, their passengers, and the other drivers' lives in danger, only because noone ever taught them how to overtake properly. It is proven by the road toll, which is several times higher than in UK or Germany for example, which have faster speed limits (some roads in Germany are open-limit alltogether). As for the city and motorway driving, if you think Auckland is congested, you should visit some bigger cities, where traffic actually manages to move and not stand there like a bunch of morons because noone ever taught them how to drive properly..Why is it that downtown Moscow in rush hour traffic, despite having about 10 times worse roads than Auckland, a lot crappier cars, and about 6 times the amount of them per square metre manages a much faster than average speed? Auckland's roading system could be used far more efficiently, if someone taught the jokers to drive. Every day I see the same picture on the motorway - all 3 lanes are moving at roughly the same speed. Someone in front jammed up the lane and is crawling at 110k, and noone can be bothered overtaking, they are keeping about 4 times the neccesary following distance, and when they decide to lanechange they take all day to do it, and chances are they still forgot to look in the mirror and get honked by the guy in the other lane, who couldnt have possibly anticipated the maneuvre(of course, he wasnt looking any further than the edge of his bonnet ) And on the streets, like Broadway Newmarket for example, its much the same picture - people choose the wrong lanes, and they move into what seems to be the faster lane at the very exact moment their old lane starts moving and the new one comes to a halt. Then they have to change lanes again...all this affect the entire traffic jam behind, slowing everything. People are simply not thinking behind the steering wheel, its like their brain goes to sleep as soon as they start the engine...When I was visiting Spain a couple of years back, I was amazed at how well the Madrid drivers are coping with their traffic problems - despite having 4 times denser traffic they manage to navigate the narrow streets (and trust me they ARE narrow, some barely enough for a car to go through without scratching the mirrors) skillfully and at a good pace - the taxi never took longer than 20 minutes to get anywhere around town. Its because they've been taught the nessesary skills to drive these roads safely and gained experience as opposed to NZ drivers who seem to get crappier as they get older ( a paradox, yes, but look at the typical slughead Auckland driver and chances are he is middle aged, not young)So the moral is, its not only the Asian drivers that cant drive, its the most of New Zealand, and NZrs are often a lot worse than asians. If you for a second think that the average New Zealander can drive well at high speeds then :hehehe: :hehehe: :hehehe: and if you for a second think that he can drive well at low speeds then:hehehe: :hehehe: :hehehe: :hehehe: :hehehe: :hehehe: :hehehe: When I was back in Uni and one of my NZ friends kept raving on about Asian drivers, who couldnt drive for shit on the motorways I just as causally noted that he took entire 30 mins to make the trip from Mt Eden To Bucklands Beach, and pointed out every single of his driving mistakes for the rest of the way. On the way back I got my Korean girlfriend to drive him home and she made the trip there AND back in the same 30 mins. Yes, I did tell her to drive as fast as possible and yes, I did teach her to drive. But after that trip I never heard anything from him about Asian drivers again. He must have been embarassed.
