BMW M3 GTS/GT3 Yokohama

Hi,

The basis of this model is the Dragon BMW M3 24h Nurburgring. The upgrade kit is the Quikskin transkit. The Dragon kit have a lot of flaws. Luckily some of them can be corrected with the transkit but it also needs some scratchbuild. Also I used some parts from other kits, like the wheels from a 911 GT2 and the seat from a 911 GT1.
Here are some picures:

It shows the differece between the Dragon and the Quikskin version

I had to add some more bars to the rollcage.

I had to convert the wheels from 5-bolt to center bolt

911 GT1 seat with SMS kevlar decal, M&A p/e buckles, Tamiya masking tape seatbelts and MeriKits fire extinguisher

Current status

more pics will be posted soon

QuikSkin transkit is 50USD at www.islandcollectibles.net
It containes resin body with rear-wing, brake disks, rims, (I used Tamiya rims), tyres, vacu formed windows and decals.
The quality is almost perfect.

Looks very hot. I love BMW's, so I'll be looking foward to this build.

On the Dragon kit, what kind of flaws are you talking about? I'm realy considering getting this, if it is a pretty good kit.

EMAXX,
Actually the kit hasn't got many flaws if you want to built the Touring Car version. But I wanted to build to GT version. So I had to do a lot of modification.
Some flaws: Wheels and tyres are absolutely useless (change to Tamiya), no engine. But more or less it is a good kit. (the same as Hasegawa)

2 new pics, about the progress.

Almost finished interior

Corrected hood:

Sweet build! I had no idea this transkit existed! I've wanted an M3 GTS for years (one of my very favorites!), but never expected a kit to be put out in anything other than 1/43! Prototype Technology Group, a race team not far from me prepares M3's for the US race series- always wanted to do one of their cars. Hmm, it might be worth just scratchbuilding the chassis, suspension, and interior (I don't sem to have another Dragon M3 to spare!) Keep the pics coming, must have more!
