Tamiya R32 GT-R

Hi everbody. The other day someone asked If there was a kit of the `89 Skyline GT-R (R32) made by Tamiya. Well, indeed it is, the No.24090.
It was a novelty in the 1990 catalogue.
The kit is most correct one of the R32 in its scale. It has the RB26DETT inside the bonnet and itīs quite well done overall. Aoshima offered in some limited series an R32 with engine included but itīs hard to find. Also from Aoshima (and, occasionally with engine) you can find the four door version.
This model is sprayed with Tamiyaīs Gun Metal and then airbrushed over with Humbrol enamel shine clear.
The bonnet itīs transparent to let show the engine If you prefer it.
For my taste , as a kit Itīs far better than the R33 & R34 that Tamiya had done after.

Well , regards to all.

Nice detailed engine bay! Did you use any reference pics? I have this kit lined up to do a Initial D Nakazato R32 conversion (just needs a big front mount intercooler for that to work).

Lightbulb Yes , I used some pics.

Fortunately I had a new model report in one magazine of that time and I could use it for detailing the engine. Pics serve me a lot really. When I cannot find info I feel lost.
Are you gonna make that intercooler scratch ?

Yes, following flyonthewall's intercooler thread (search for it! It's really really good!). I just need the right styrene sheet (metal siding) and I'd be set..

Talking Stars GTRs

Letīs say this , heīs Yoda and I could be Luke.But....We still need a Darth Vader ! Who could it be !

Well the greenish or even brownish effect is not due to having an affair with Veilside sorry. ITīs the yellow halogen lights of my kitchen. The colour is the typical X-10.I liked this because matching the wheels looks sinister , intimidating. Well, damn ! what it is , right?

If you are in need of pics of any moving thing on four wheels (I mean , real examples) , feel free to ask.

So , the mistery has been unveiled Warren?. Next Masterpiece is the T.K. Imprezza...mmm...quite interesting,This way you avoid the horrible original rims. Colour chosen ?

Tomorrow Iīll post something Italian and totally `80s, for the nostalgics.

excellent job done

i like how you've done the black line painting around the headlights. I had 2 try on 3 sets of lights b4 i got mine up 2 scratch. I have done this same model but in the wine red metallic colour. I will definatly hav 2 get a digi cam.

i am currently doing a 1/12 scale version of this model made by fujimi

Yes, the lines around are painted

First of all, welcome MArtinu. The lines were painted indeed because it looked far better that way. The dark met. red was my other option because I liked a lot that colour. But , casualties of life , I had a new model report in a magazine with pictures of the very same car of the model.I mean, the car with the same licence plate of the decal sheet. And it was a gun metal one.
About the 1/12 car from Fujimi Iīm willing to take a look to it. I was about to buy one and then , I left it. I shouldnīt have done that.
Well , regards.
