Tamiya Golf V5 - redo to GTI

This is my second take on this model. The first one went together fine, but then I accidentally knocked it off the table and the paint cracked like an egg!!! oops!

So, I thought id try a few different things. First of all, I wanted to make the front bumper similiar to my own GTI's Charactere bumper. I did this with a rear spoiler from the Revell ITR kit. Turned upside down... it replicated the bottom of my bumper pretty close. Used some putty and the spoiler to do this. I also added a 1 bar grille. I have a Kamei grille on my 1:1, but it just didnt look very good on the model. Other than that, the other mods are what I had on my original. Intercooler from Skyline R34, sideskirts and hatch wing from Revell Civic hatch, custom half roll cage, race seats from die cast Ford Focus rally car. Im happy with the outcome.... as Im learning more and more!

the real car...

the model...

I want to try to find some rims that look like my real rims to add to the model. If anyone knows of any that look close... please let me know! Thanks!

opinions on the model would be great too!

Nice work on the Golf V5, and your 1:1 looks clean too.
