Gear ratios comparison between G20 & NX2000
Here are the gear ratios for the P10 G20 and the NX2000 P10 G20 1st 3.063 2nd 1.826 3rd 1.207 4th 0.926 5th 0.733 Final Drive ratio 4.058:1 Reverse 3.153:1 Nx2000 1st 3.333 2nd 1.826 3rd 1.286 4th 0.975 5th 0.756 Final drive ratio 4.176:1 Reverse 3.153:1 I am wondering if when I install an NX2000 tranny into a P10 if these ratios (NX2000) will make any performance improvements. Could be a stupid question but I'm only good at installing parts the numbers screw me up sometimes ![]()

Using my good old dos based program, CarTest, based on the programs defined optimum shift points and launch type, this switch will gain the following:
Selected Cars: 1. 1995 INFINITI G20T 2. 1995 INFINITI G20T (W/NX200 TRANNY) Car Number 1 2 --------- --------- Time to Speed 0-30 mph.... 2.9 2.6 0-40 mph.... 4.1 4.7 0-50 mph.... 6.5 6.3 0-60 mph.... 8.5 8.3 0-70 mph.... 11.8 11.5 0-80 mph.... 15.0 14.6 0-90 mph.... 18.8 18.5 0-100 mph.... 25.1 24.6 Time to Distance 0-100 ft..... 3.5 3.4 0-500 ft..... 9.1 9.0 0-1320ft..... 16.7 16.5 @ mph .... 84.8 85.4 Top Speed.... 129 130 5-60 mph, 1st Gear Start... 8.5 8.2 30-50 mph 2nd Gear..... 3.5 3.4 3rd Gear..... 5.9 5.2 4th Gear..... 8.7 7.8 5th Gear..... 13.2 11.7 50-70 mph 2nd Gear..... 4.6 3rd Gear..... 5.9 5.2 4th Gear..... 8.6 7.7 5th Gear..... 12.9 11.4 |

Thanks P10DET for the info about the ratios. Should be interesting to see. I guess if it gets better acceleration I better swap out MY tranny too Lucky me I got a G20 tranny for mine.

It looks like the NX2000 tranny only helps if you take your car to track or do lots of highway driving. The advantages are only really noticable above 100 mph and in acceleration from 50 mph.

Your right about that. The NX box gives considerable power on the high end which has yielded an obscene stock top speed. I do want the car to have this cuz I intend to do a little more "professional" racing. Low end will need some work but it's nice and I am satisfied.
And for us canadians Posi trac will be indispensible if I use the car this winter.
