Polishing and waxing is about the best you can do.

What about a car cover at night over the car to stop the water ?

Hey, lilmiller, you on maxima.org? We have a small group (8-10) Maxima peoples here in Salt Lake, you should come hang with us. Have a BBQ meet coming up on the 15th of Sept. If you're not on the org go check it out under the forums in the West Coast, you'll find us Utah posters in there.

As far as your situation, I have the same problem with my neighbor, for some reason she thinks she needs to water my grass and car when she waters her lawn. If I wash it the same day I'm okay. If it's stuck on there pretty bad I have to break out the buffer and do Meguiar's 2 or 3 step system. Your car will look way nice after about 2 hours of work, but it's worth it. Make sure you get a buffer if you're going to try it though, pulling a Danielson wax on, wax off deal is going to give you some body aches for a couple days!

Try a synthetic "wax", really a polymer, like Liquid Glass. I've been using it for several months and it lasts. Meguiars and Mothers last for about a month, give or take a week or so depending on rain and such. LG is readily available at most auto-parts stores-this is what I like most about it. I have used the $80 Zymol products too and they don't compare.
