Well I can start making this car fast, if I ever get a B16A(ohio sucks for imports)
Well I've come up with my full plans. Nothing will be done until I can get a B16A to my door. I want to go with Nippon-Motors, but Cali-Ohio, that shipping will fuck me royally. I'll entertain you with my plans.......
Performance: B16A(DC header,AEM CAI,50HP N20,MSD ig.,2.25 Exh,PowerCore cat, Arospeed muffler,Type R valve cover,AEM fuel rail/ pres regulator, red wires/hoses) 1990-3 Integra brakes, ABS(red calipers) New shocks, Progress springs DC tower braces Exterior: Wings West RS sides and rear 96 Civic front(already have, minus lights)not installed 94 Integra mirrors 90-1 CRX taillights White(makin it a Maaco job)/black hood Bronze Konig Traffik/w 205/40/R16 Red H's, SiR badge w/ "R" cut off(have now) DOHC VTEC sitckers, cant live without em! Interior: 89 Accord steering wheel(installed now) SiR guages Autometer guages(NOS,oil pres, fuel pres) Seats redone in red NOS(brand) bottles on A-pillar, and in hatch What do you think? this supposedly costs $6,483.50, but I know more money will have to be spent. My money flow is good now, so this will be a better way to spend it. Oh, I will have no sound system. Criticizm accepted.

instead of spending all that money on an old car, y not buy a new car that is already fast? Those plans sound good but expensive.

pretty good price - you installing all that stuff yourself? My swap is coming out to the same with basically the same performance stuff + act clutch, and I already have GReddy exhaust. All I'm doing to the exterior is another set of wheels and maybe CF hood. good luck.

Well, personally I think putting any badges on your car is a bad idea. You'll end up on www.beaterz.com so fast it'll make your head spin if you put that Si badge on, not to mention the DOHC VTEC badges, even if you do have a B16 in there. People on the outside won't know that the badges/stickers are real, and they'll just assume you don't know anything. Save the money from the badges and put it towards getting a better paintjob.
www.jdmhondaparts.com for your motor www.hasport.com for your transplant kits (they have em at JDMHP too) Definately save your money for a real paint job. You really do get what you pay for. I don't think it is advisable to keep your NOS on the A pillar.

Installing all myself, I have enough literature on all procceses involved to fill a 300 page book, plus being mechanically inclined. As for the stickers, people will only race you in Ohio if they think your shit is super-duper fast, even though most people here only have shit from Auto Zone(APC stuff). Yeah, going with Maaco isnt the best idea, but I cant have the paint cost more than the car! And BaldWonder, the CRX is the best FWD car(!), they are now at best 11 years old, and you will still pay 4000 bucks for one. Anyone know how the shipping would be Cali-Ohio w/ a 300+ motor?

I got my ZC shipped from cali to ohio for $160. Thats to a business addy and that just the engine.
Some places charge a lot others dont. B16 will prolly be a little more because of the added weight of tranny, axles, the whole deal. I think i'm going to go with a maaco job actually. I've had a couple friends paint their cars at the maaco near my house. My one friend had his 61 caddy paint there. Is was awsome. Nearly perfect paint job using some metallic bad ass green color. He even got some moldings or something shaved by them. Maybe its cuz its a 61 caddy and the old guy at this particular maaco was loving it. He got the supreme paint job too.

sorry this is kinda long but i feel is worth the read...if you agree give it a hell yes and if you don't let me know why...i try to be an open thinker
just so everyone knows off the bat...i'm a jdm whore...so some of things i say will be dumb to you (because tehy cost a lot for so little) and i also work at a dealership. find a professional painter to paint it on the side...it will be the same as maaco or maybe even less for much better work. i have had my entire infiniti repainted for 700 (3 coats base 5 coats clear) and my civic is going to be done for 500 (same base clear ratio but championship white base with blue pearl tricote clear)...if i didn't want the custom clear the civic would be painted complete(jambs and all) for 400. you could get a complete b16a1 changeover from a couple of places that i know of(with hasports)for just under 2 grand shipped. this includes limited slip tranny, axles, wiring harness, ecu, shift linkage, the whole deal...this is the option i took it cost about 1975 or so to get it to wisconsin. not that much more to goet it to ohio. i personally said screw kits and went with the si-r conversion...850 dollars later i'm completely in love with it...there are no hatches around here with it...it looks stock enough that no one tries to screw with the car...and it is a breexe to install since it is oem and not in need of trimming. i don't like body kits...especially common ones and the ww kit is the most common. don't waste money on badges unless you are doing it for a reason...i wasted money but i also have a true replica si-r and there is nothing rice about it. and nos...see what you have with your motor first, then tune your motor in, then modify the piss out of it...if you still don't think you're fast enough...sell your car and buy something with a turbo...nos is unsafe for use on a street driven. you have a button that you can push for instant power but you never know when a kid will cross the street...i don't play russian roulette...how bout you? dc tower braces are junk...the generic billet ones are more sturdy...i have never seen abrace flex so much. i guess what i am saying is do more research. i didn't meant to pick apart your master plan but i am trying to help you avoid becoming one of "the dumb honda kids" here are my rules 1-the part must be designed for the purposeand application that you are buying it for:thus universal parts are crap and for the most part are poorly designed with fashion over function in mind 2-there must be an appropriate gain from the mod whether it is looks or speed or handling...looks-must not interfere with the actual vehicles abilty(big floppy kit waving in the wind so you are afraid to go fast for fear of loosin your bumper-that is dumb) also do not sacrifice on certain things such as paint because skimping in some areas will actually make the entire picture look worse...speed-do not cobble things together and unless you are certian that you alone are capable of doing the work do not do it/get help or have someone else do it/cuz you're prolly just gonna break something(i know i screwed up a strut, axle, and control arm the first time i tried installing springs)...handling-do not mismatch parts...the handling characteristics of your car are one of the most important things because if you have mismatched parts you could endanger yourself (i.e. cheap coilovers with blown struts...all too common) i like the complete setups...i am currently looking into the jic setup from jdmhondaparts.com only the street setup but no less an amazing suspension package designed specifically for that vehicle valved specifically for the spring rate... 3-RESEARCH-if what i just ranted about went over your head then you need to do some of this...if you just want the cheapest parts to make your car as quickly as possible then more power to ya but just know when someone who knows what is best for what they are doing rolls up you the end result will be you chasing around their shadow.

I hear that comment everyday when I tell people that I just dropped 5k on my 90 civic. Because I make really good money for my age, everyone figures that I should go get a new car. I had always planned on doing that too, but I changed my mind. It's worth it to me to dump some cash into it. If I get the stupid superficial things taken care of, I will have nothing to complain about (as long as my b16 swap is doing well). If I did get a new car, I would definitely keep my civic (and not for a beater). Personally, I like my car alot. I like the inside so much, it's just grown to a comfort zone, making me not like driving other cars. If someday I want to sell it, the money wont obviously be paid back, but at least I would have had some fun in it.

I'm very attached to my CRX.
Same dilema - spend the money for a b16 and some other performance mods (I'm figuring about 4-5k), or put that towards a new car. What would I get? So far none of the cars I've driven are as fun as the CRX. Until I can afford the NSX, I'm sticking with my baby... |

my friend coulda had an NSX for <15k from a guy he knows that went bankrupt. So he goes out and buys a vette. I cant wait to hang with him tho. He always made fun of my civic when he was driving this pos 93 v6 camaro (which got beat by my friends 96 accord ex). I guess I just want some repect for our hondas, since many of my friends are all about the "american v8". Thats another reason why I'm willing to spend the money. I love superior engineering :ylsuper

People always ask me why I spend so much money on modifying my car. My explanation is that I prefer to have something individual, representative of me, rather than another generic Civic. I love my car, and I enjoy all aspects of auto racing, and I want my car to reflect my personality. There are so many Civics on the road I want to be different.
Plus there is a really great feeling when you beat any car with a larger engine. Nothing like seeing a Mustang disappear behind you as the VTEC kicks in. I totally agree with you kyle95g20... people should research and learn as much as possible before making their purchases. I spent 7 months looking into what cd player and speakers I was going to put into my car, and in the end I got a great deal on top-of-the-line parts that really make me happy.
