You could probably get this kit and convert it:

Or any of several other Mustang kits for that matter.

Umm ok,
I think that the best would be to get the old Saleen kit and a cobra kit.

Nice car, don't expect Revell to ever do it. For some reason, they have treated the '99-up Mustang Cobra as a red-headed stepchild. They updated their Mustang GT to a '99 Cobra, the year that the Cobra didn't actually get to customers because of engine horsepower issues. Meanwhile, the coolest Mustangs were really the GT's, and Revell was stuck w/a less-desirable model. Which they didn't bother to change to the much more popular GT, or Bullitt, or Saleen, or Mach I, or any other.

Revell marketing is so old-school and behind the times, they simply have no clue what will be a hit vs. a dud on the market when it comes to anything of a modern subject. Add to that their incredibly long interval from announcement to actual kit on the market (currently about 2 years, up to four years for some subjects) that if you want this Saleen, you'll have to make it yourself. Too bad the resin guys haven't jumped on more late model Mustangs, Camaros, and Firebirds. Saleens, Mach I's, GT's, Bullitts...lots of possibilities out there.

If Revell has any sense, their '05 Mustang kit will be designed so that it can be easily upgraded/changed to represent the many popular aftermarket and factory upgrades the car will get over the years...getting stuck with one kit like they have now would be a travesty. Revell would be wise to study how Fujimi/Aoshima do JDM business, and take some of that wisdom to the American market. It shouldn't take years or decades to do variations on the same kit, when Fujimi/Aoshima/Tamiya will do multiple variations in the first months they're on the market. They just don't get it that they can sell more models this way, including more models to each buyer....
