R5 TURBO street
This is the heller kit of !jean Ragnotti's car, built as a street version.
Paint is renault sport yellow, rims are SSR Mk III. ![]() As you can see the tires are ugly, so i decided to fit slicks with a lower profile. I just cut a quarter of them using this special tool: ![]() This is the result, small size low tires, perfect for an old sport car :

Re: R5 TURBO street
It's 1/24 scale. Thanks, i wasn't sure about the color. I wanted the clio V6 yellow (saturn yellow), but it's not yet available in touch up pen.
I might paint the wheel centers to break the shine, but what color ?

Re: R5 TURBO street
Roll cage was finished (at least the construction)
here you can see the great quality of heller part And this is an in-progress pic, showing the setup for holding the rods while soldering: I was pretty happy to find that. And the actuall state of the engine What do you guys think so far ?

Wow! Nice scratch-building on the cage and the engine! Neat little trick with those tires...
Can't wait to see more.

Hi,
nice car, good work so far. Just recently before your thread I got aware, that the Heller kit has an engine and I was thinking about using the Tamiya kit with Heller engine parts..... Just a question about the tires: when you cut out a piece, which glue do you use to refit them ? Superglue? Are the headers scratchbuilt with metal or already painted? Micha |

Re: R5 TURBO street
Thanks for all your comments, it's a car i parciculary love, as some friends of me own a few real ones, mainly rallye versions, and they are really impressive in person. If only they were cheaper...
Well to answers the questions, wheels are from aoshima (discussed in the main section), and the tires are nice looking only on the box ! To glue the tires after cutting them i used rubber glue, but finally it's too soft once hard (do i make sense ?), so i used superglue. when the join is sanded it's nearly invisible. To make an accurate model of the R5 turbo, using both tamiya and heller kits seems the good choice, althought i didn t see the first one, but a lot of scratchbuiding would be needed, on the engine bay and the trunk for exemple. Header is scratchbuilt using solder wire, and no i didn't forgot the inlet part of the turbo skylineman32, th eengine still need a few parts, like the generator, ignition distibutor, and the usual stuff.
