2001 Rodeo Sport V-6 occasional stall
I have had a couple instances where when I back off the accelerator--at highway speeds, coasting (going down hill, I believe) where the engine dies momentarily, but then runs fine. CEL flashes On then Off, but no code. Engine has about 100,000 on it. I had the timing belt and water pump changed 6 months ago, but this stall occured both before and after. The engine generally runs well, no coughs, roughness or hard starts, but I keep feeling it's gonna quit on me.
Plugs are Iridiums than have maybe 60-65K on them, but I was thinking of replacing them with the OE Denso. Any ideas? |

I would start by cleaning the throttle body.

Re: 2001 Rodeo Sport V-6 occasional stall
if the throttle body cleaning doesn't help my guess is that the intake manifold gasket has a break or three in them. Super common.
