2001 Rodeo Sport-misc. questions

Just bought this with a bad engine at 76K, and am having a used replacement (from a 2001 Sport with a 12mo/unlimited mileage warranty) engine installed. The guy doing the swap tell me they pul most of the stuff off the bad engine and put them on the replacement (coils, injectors, etc.) as they don't know how long the replacement has been sitting.

I'll probably have the transmission serviced, a local guy is renowned for his transmission work and it's worth $90 to have him look it over.

1) I am debating replacing the shocks, and wondered about replacements. This vehicle will likely never leave the pavement, so I am more interested in a decent ride and control than off-road stability.

2) Any other recommended maint. other than the obvious? I'll probably change the brake fluid (I know how to do this with the ABS), and I replaced the transfer case lube with a synthetic on the 2000 4Dr Rodeo I have had for 4 years, so will likely do the same on this one.

Re: 2001 Rodeo Sport-misc. questions

Make sure you keep the all the original electronics intact on your 2001. You will want to swap them over to the replacement engine if the replacement is not a 2001 (assuming a 3.2L). 1998-1999 have different electronics from 2000+ You can also put a 3.5L in there!
