1999 Ford Windstar "oil change required"

I have changed the oil and did what the manual said to reset the monitoring system to 100% but the "oil change required" light stays on. Any help would be appreciated.

Question Re: 1999 Ford Windstar "oil change required"

I'm looking at buying a 99 windstar SEL with this same issue. I'm curious about an answer also.

I contacted our local Ford Service Department, they hadn't heard of the problem before, but stated it may be somthing electronic. Couldn't give me an idea of price if it was electronic, but there is a button to press to reset that warning.

My sister had a 2001 Grand Am that had same message and it was a tricky process to get the thing to reset.

Re: 1999 Ford Windstar "oil change required"

I was able to resolve the problem after a test drive and just time to look at it. Press the INFO button until it showed Oil Life 0%, I held down the RESET button, cleared that message, turned engine off and back on, and it disappeared. There's a master RESET option, that didn't work.
