no spark... no injection
here's the deal...
i ripped apart an 88 camry 4cyl manual to put a new head gasket, clutch and many other parts in it. tried to start it up and it just turns over... no spark, no fuel so first thing i thought of was the ignitor, swapped it over to my friends car along with my distributor and his car started right up. so i know that's not the problem checked power to all wiring plugs to the distributor and ignitor on my car and it's all got power. last thing i've done is checked power to the fuel injectors. this is where it gets weird... ( i think) as far as i know the injectors should get pulses of energy through the possitive wire only. i'm getting 10.5-12.5V to both wires! i have know idea what is going on and the only thing i can think of to do is anyways, any ideas would be greatly appreciated. oh yeah, i forgot to mention all power components in the vehicle work a that i know of ( windows, locks, headlights, stereo etc.) once again, thanks to all in advance andrew gilpin |

Re: no spark... no injection
I think that there could possibly be some kind of wiring system malfunction. Maybe a short somewhere. Maybe you forgot to connect something you disconnected?

Re: no spark... no injection
You have to get back to basics on this with no fuel or spark.Whan the key is turned on do you hear the fuel pump?Put your ear to the fuel tank filler and listen as someone else turns it on.Is there spark to the plugs?wires?ect.Work backwards.Don't forget the stupid stuff like is there fuel in the tank.
