"Autobahn" Plastic Shield Treatment for RSX??

Hello folks,

I'm about to lease an RSX-S. The one I'm interested has an "Autobahn" treatment which means there is a clear plastic shield adhered to the front and back of the vehicle to "protect" it. Is this kind of thing bogus? Will it cause the sun to bleach the car in funky ways? When the plastic shield gets beaten up is it replaceable? Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I will be hashing out the lease details tonight.

Thanks!

Tom

Is it like a film that goes over the bumper? They're usually only put on the front to protect from stone chip. 3M makes a good one, and they shouldn't turn yellow. Plus they have a lifetime warranty.
