excessive roof/windshield noise at higher speeds on 01 Tahoe
this noise wasn't noticed until after i purchased 01 Tahoe. At around 50-55 mph there is a noise described as sounding like hail or heavy rain hitting the roof around the top part of the windshield or front part of the roof (all the way across it seems)...windshield seems to be sealed.....
noise is there whether sunroof is opened or closed. any ideas or knowledge from anyone? |

have resealed alot of the reveal moldings, *the black strip that goes around the windshield* take some wide masking tape and tape it off and see the noise goes away, also make sure your luggage racks first cross bow is positioned 18 inches rearward,

Re: excessive roof/windshield noise at higher speeds on 01 Tahoe
Blukrystl, how did you make out? I started noticing the same thing on my '03 tahoe recently. The dealer says it's the bugflector thats installed thats causing the problem. Found it hard to believe that's all it was. Makes sense that it may be a loose windshield seal also.
Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated! |

Winshield Noise
I had the same problem, but only after installing a high profile deflector. I contacted Lund and they said that they had had reports of this and that if I wanted to keep the shield, I would have to glue the rubber seal around the windshield. I returned it in exchange for the low profile and the sound went away. Hope this helps.
