What's the best speaker brand

I'm looking for a good brand of speakers (6.5") to be powered by a pioneer head unit.

bass or sound quality? the kappas need to be driven by a lot of power, or else, they wont sound to good, and may possibly get screwed up.

Kappa this, Alpine that, blah blah blah....

The BEST speakers for you are the ones that sound the best TO YOU! Go to stereo shops and listen to different speakers, then get the ones that YOU like the sound of the best. What sounds good to me or Tibby or MJshort won't nessacerily sound the best to you. Kappa are definitely very good speakers though, but they may not be the sound you are looking for.

Re: What's the best speaker brand

As true as this is...lol they hate hearing that. They ask that question wanting you to just tell them Polk Audio, Infinity, JL, Kicker, etc etc. But it is very true. Some speakers will sound reallly good with highs but no bass while others sound muffled but they have alot of bass. Also you need to think about if you are going to have subs or not. IMO if you are going to have subs get the speakers that are really good wiht the highs because your subs will fix the no bass part. These are just my thoughts though.

You just need to find out how much money you wanna spend, what kind of sound you are looking for, future plans for system, etc

he said he wants to power them with his HU, not the best idea to try to power components with your HU.

Re: What's the best speaker brand

It's a myth that components can't be ran off the headunit. SQ will be the same, but volume will differ greatly. People tend to think the louder their music is, the better Sound quality is has, which is untrue. Thats what your mind wants you to think.

You lack output if you put your component on the headunit. People will crank it up because it's not loud enough and the headunit will clip, sending distorted signals to the speakers. This is also how people blow their subs. They turn their gains up thinking it'll help. Before clipping, the components should sound virtually the same, but the only thing that differs is volume.

sounds like you have coaxial speakers, not components.

I just never thought that the HU would be able to supply enough power to power a decent set of components.
