some kind of spark problem??!!

Ok, First I dont have a cutlass, I'm using this forum for 2 reasons. 1. The is no forum for a Chevrolet Celebrity, and 2 because my chilton repair manual covers my celeb, and also all us and canadian models of Oldsmobile Ciera, Cutlass Ciera, and Cutlass Cruiser. My 1986 Chev Cleb is front wheel drive and has a 2.8L V6 Carburated engine.
Here is my problem:
When I try to start the engine I get absolutly nothing! However, I still get my headlights, defroster, raido, etc when i turn the key, but I hear no nose coming from the engine. I think you're supposed to hear a "clicking" sound which is the starter engaging the flywheel, but I dont hear that. So I'm thinking the starter in my car is bad. I've checked all the fuses, and they checked out fine, so its leading me even closer to beliving its the starter. The battery is fully charged, but I have no idea how to test electrial components on a car. I also have no idea what all sensors are on it, nor where these sensors are located? Perhaps one of them could be bad? I've also yet to check the connections to the starter, however I have cleaned all the connections. How do I test the connector wires going to the starter? Well, I'm going to head out to the garage to see if I can get any further on getting the starter off (which is a b****!) If anyone has any experience in dealing with starters on these kind of front wheel drive v6's I'd love to hear your opinion.

Thanx and good luck to everyone with their cars!!!!

well, the starter is replaced, and still nothing. I put the key in the ignition, and it turns all the way forward, without any resistance. Now I suspect the starter to be the source of the problem, any suggestions??!!
