My roommate has a 95 and has been trying to get the damn thing running for two weeks now. He just recently replaced his timing belt and now that he has it put back together it wont start. The battery is brand new and for some reason there is no power getting to the starter. Normally i would tell him to replace the started however, when trying to start it, he noticed some smoke coming up from the engine bay. What we found is a wire twisted with un-covered wire (looks to be a ground) and that is wrapped inside what looks like a tin foil material.
Has anyone seen this or have a clue what this might be? |

Yes when he triees to start it, that is when the smoke begins to appear. The engine will not turn over.

Re: 95 PGT Issues
This is my car we are talking about. I found the wire that is melting causing the smoke. It's a ground wire that gointo the main wire bundle to something under the dash. The problem is that I have no way to find out what it goes to unless someone knows a link to a good wiring diagram for a 93-95 Probe GT and it has to be the right one or I can't find that exact wire.
EDIT: The ground wire I am talking about is the one that grounds to a bolt with another wire right below the airbox. It's the wire that goes into the bundle behind the engine to the firewall. If anybody knows where this wire goes I really need to know? Thanks Last edited by Dubbed; 01-11-2004 at 03:02 AM. |
