Question clutch problems

Already you ask??? YEAH ALREADY

this fuckin sucks, i just got out of work, i start it up, push the clutch in, didnt even touch anything else, and i hear this horrible grinding sound and clutch burning, i didnt even touch the shifter so its not that, and then i think, ok, im like, two blocks from home, so i kinda baby it, but for some reason it has no power, usually it does, so babing it is pretty much flooring it. any suggestions on why in the hell this is happening???

my friend said it might be the pressure plate in the clutch, but the clutch only has like, 15k miles on it!!

just go the car wednesday too

same thing happened to me. i got halfway home from buying my car (i picked it up about an hour away from home), and my clutch died on me. the car wouldn't move, it would just go all the way up to redline and not catch, so the clutch isn't even touching the engine. i'm pretty sure it's either the return spring or the pressure plate. i'm taking it in on the 30th (first opening that my mechanic friend had) to get it checked out and fixed. so hopefully she'll be on the road in February.

Re: clutch problems

but the clutch still grabs, and it runs fine, it just grinds like your trying to put it in reverse while goin forward, except im not touching the shifter. and whats with the doggy problem, it has no nuts, normally it does.

Try giving it full throttle. If it slips and you hit your rev limiter, its your clutch disk. But with that grinding noise, it sounds like your throw out bearing is fuxed. Is the sound like a running dryer filled with rocks (or something to that effect)?

Re: clutch problems

well, i dont know exactly what it sounded like, it was just kind of a "tryin to shift with no clutch grinding the gears" sound, but i just started it up, and its fine, no sound at all, and its got power again, im so friggin confuzed

Re: clutch problems

yeah id say its your throw out bearing. unless the noise is comin from your tranny but if it made the noise while the clutch was pressed in then it couldnt be the tranny.
