Fuse for amp

Hey I just got a fosgate 301 x amp, and was wondering if I got a higher voltage fuse would it sound better and stuff. I was told it would by a car audio tech when I was getting gold plated rca plugs and ground wire. I would think this would hurt your amp but I honestly don't know. What are your thoughts on this?

First, I think you mean a higher amp fuse, all cars (except military and REALLY old) are 12v. And those big 100amp fuses some people have are a waste of money unless you have a HUGE amount of equipment you are powering. I have a 30amp fuse, nothing special, just one you'd find under your dash, and it powers 1600watts.

Fuse Replacement?

Sorry, but you will not gsin sny performance by replacing your fuse. If you want your system to produce more power or, higher volumes at clear levels, you will need a bigger amplifier. Troy

1600 watts on a 30 amp fuse?

you would need a 140 amp fuse to support that kind of wattage, if it was real power, not that theoretical peak before meltdown most manufacturers use. 30 amps equates to about 300 watts of power.
