I have a 93 Lumina Euro, 3.1 v6 runs great it has the 4T60-E Tranny. Now my probs arent big but manybe u can help me, first my idle isnt steady kinda jumps all over the place after the cars been runing for like 15 mins, like from 1000 to like 500 but only when im stoped. Then when i let go of the gas u know most cars kinfa most forwards nice n quick, well my car kinda surges forward, it makes like its gonna shut off but it never does, ok next i cant deal with this. My Tranny shifts nice n smooth but when im doing like 55 and i wanna go faster i push the accelerator gradually it like doesnt wanna go much faster, but if i floor it it changes gears like 2 almost as if it was stuck, and like when it gets stuck i take my foot off and it kinda slumps like, like a mount or somthing is bad but there fine any idea on my probs
PS: i raced my friend POS lumina sedan and he beat me! 3.1 v6 2 My Lumina Euro is in Perfect running order or so i thought i have bosch plugs, great wires, an intake, but i have those heavy mag wheels and i always use, premium, his car is some POS with mismacthed everything and he beat me what the heck! Oh and my abs light is on, and no offense but the brakes in this car suck, its like driving this cheese for brakes, i know i ahurry these brakes wont stop in time, in my moms van the brakes are so much safer any one know why? |

Re: 93 Euro Tranny Being a Wierdo, and idle 2!
Maybe if you wouldn't be out 'racing', your brakes would be ok, and your engine wouldn't have a shitty idle. And perhaps, if you wouldn't be racing the car, maybe the transmission wouldn't be acting the way it is.

Re: 93 Euro Tranny Being a Wierdo, and idle 2!
As for your idle, check your EGR valve and the IAC (Idle Air Control, which controls the idle). If the car acts like it has a bad idle all the time, check to see if the IAC is working.
The EGR valve will run about $180, unless you can go to a pick and pull (which is what I did) and get it for dirt cheap. The IAC will run $30-35 |
