Carbon Fibre Honda NSR500 Test bike

As my first bike this started as a 98 Repsol Honda but I couldn't get the fluoro Orange stickers to stay on it. They kept flaking off so I got the s...ts with it and threw it in Brake Fluid. Don't know what was going on with the stickers as I tried Decal Set etc etc etc and another set of decals from another kit and they did the same. Only the fluoro Orange.
So I thought about what I was going to do with it and thought why not try painting it as a carbon test bike. If I stuff it up it doesn't matter and this was the end result.
Without splashing out for expensive carbon decals I at least am reasonably happy with the result.
Not in a hurry to build another bike kit.

The CF pattern looks very believable! What did you spray it through?

Its the Tamiya 1/12th Scale 98 Repsol kit and all plastic.
The yellow/orange I assume you are talking about is the rims?
That is the correct colour for the Repsol race bike and I just left them that colour.
I think it actually balances it up a bit with the other colours. Its not too dark and morbid.

Í used wedding veil. I didnt actually spray it through it though.
I tried that aka the Tamiya method and it was too hard to get it to go around all the contours at once so I actually sprayed the Tamiya Light Gunmetal Grey on to the Wedding Veil and rolled it over the cowling etc in one motion to get a constant effect. A bit messy on the fingers but with a bit of refining I reckon I will get it better yet.
Heres a bonnet I did using the same method although it was easier being flatter. It still needed to be clear coated.

Sitting on my sons eclipse.
