I/H/E...what next? (99gsr)

wasup everyone..so far i have a tsudo fireball catback, aem intake, and dc 4-2-1 header. what upgrade should i do next to get an increase in power? i was looking into maybe an act flywheel which i hear makes your acceleration faster...cams, but i hear installation cost a lot. so..any suggestions?im not lookin into any expensive in the thousands like turbo or anything in the future..just an all motor setup..

Get some cams and cam gears. Ive also heard that too, they say for each gear, its like taking out another 100 lbs in your car, something to do with the stock one being better for momentum, rather than acceleration.

i agree w/ spect.

the cam/cam gears are pretty essential to building a motor up.

if u don't want to go that route, wut are u going for? all motor or FI?

sorta need to know that before we can give any bigger answers.

You should do some research. I mean, some actual, not just post a question research. If you didnt know that cams are extremly important in an all motor build up, you should read some more, unless I misunderstood you. No offense by the way. And all motor is really expensive, if youd rather spend less, go FI.

Cams and Cam gears, once installed, should be DYNO tuned to extract the most possible HP. If you change other things, you'll probably need to redo there adjusting to once again get peak performance Cams can vary tremendously. It depends on your setup, what you want, what it can handle, and where you want power.

if it was me I wouldn't dive right in to swap the flywheel until you were ready for a clutch as well... then you can dig in there and really make it worth your time to throw in a new better clutch, light weight flywheel, and of course new pilot and throw out bearings...

Yeah, unless you jus do it anyways even if you dont need a new clutch. I think you'd need some type r valve springs, I heard something about moving the intake springs to the rear, and putting dual springs on the front? Type r would be good enough, or if you really want power, just get some toda stage 2s(better quality I've heard than skunk2s) or something like that.

a flywheel is a good way to go and while your at it install an upgraded clutch if not that go cam gears and pulleys or if you want cams go with stage =ones even though stage two are well worth the price of putting them in

depends, he could easily spend $8k on a FI motor. he's going to have to reinforce/stregthen his motor a lot for it to be able to take any type of real boost.
