Put EX tranny into a DX any wiring needed
Does anybody know if i put a EX (auto) Tranny in a DX (auto) honda 93 civic do i need to do anything with the wiring or computer. My car dont want to even move with the stock dx tranny in it. Takes forever to hit 50 mph. Does anyone know if there is any thing else i could do to make it have faster pick up. I want to sell it later and buy a Manual HB. A
ny help would help.

yes, the EX auto tranny from a 92+ Civic would work fine. You should also see a little bit better response with it. Truthfully, if you are going to spend the money on another tranny, you might as well just convert it to manual while you have everything apart. If not, the auto EX will work fine. Good luck.

the trannies only have 2 plugs on the top of them and those should be directly interchangable. I did a swap on my civc and there isnt much involved. I have a used ex auto tranny from that swap that I could sell you if you need one and you are any where close to the Virginia area
