Question How To Take Out The Stereo 316i Compact

HEY I HAVE A 1995 316I COMPACT AND IT HAS A AFTERMARKET STEREO AND I WANT TO REMOVE IT BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO REMOVE THE PLASTIC SURROUND CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLS

its a sony tape deck with cd changer i dont think it is factory but im not sure it could be but dosent look it i just need to know how to take the black surround thing around the centre compartment (you know where the air conditioning controls are and clock is yeah but if you can help that would be good

Is this what your dash looks like (see pic). If yes you just need unlock the radio to slide it out the dash, you will not need to remove your A/C controls or anything else.

didnt ge the pic

hey man i didnt get the pic it did not work just an x try to do it again , but the dash is one peice and there is a black plastic seperate part that surronds the stereo and air con controls and clock
i think its the one your talking about but thanx get back if thats rite, i'll try your way though

Its alright you dont need a pic if its a sony what model? These raios are real easy to De-install..

Talking thanxs mate

i finished the sound install yesturday i was up till 5:50 in the morning but it is now done, i got the keys to un release the sony stereo then i put my pioneer oel stereo in and two 15" subs 4 components and two amps all the wires under the carpet so nice and neat.
so sweet as thanx for the help any way cool mate
