How to take out the tails on a '96 I30???

It is very important that I receive a quick response because my friend and I are going to be taking his tails out tommorrow and I am unsure how to do it on his car. He has a '96 I30 with the amber lenses in the back. I would like to know how you get the piece that has the amber in it to come out (most likely will have to take out the whole assembly). TIA

I'm not sure I understand which lights you are talking about. If you mean the side marker lights, the ones in the fenders, they should "pop" out with the use of a small flat-blade screw driver. Use a piece of cloth to prevent marking or chipping the paint. I know some people have replaced the side marker lights with clear one. If you were talking about the actual tail light units, sorry, I have not tried to remove them.

If you want to know how to make them clear check out maxima.org Its under HOW TO. I would advise not to do it though. You have to know what your doing. It would prob be better to just purchase the clear ones. It will save you a lot of time and frustration!
