$610.00 and the Reserve is still not met yet. I'm so sad....

Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to buy a copy that someone spilled coffee on or something.

It's over $800 now

mini_magic - didn't you say that the last one only sold for $400??

Wow - what a deal that was I guess. Hopefully this auction will bring a few more to the surface. I have decided I want one...

Soon the value of the memorabilia will exceed the value of the car itself

Well for those not exactly paying attention, the first auction ended at $830 USD with the Reserve price not being met.

So rather than contact the high bidder and offer to sell the item for that price as sometimes happens, this guy has chosen to relist the item for another 10 days.

Watch it here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=35936

Oh... and I just bid $2.00 but was automatically outbid.

EDIT: I bid $50.00 and am now the current high bidder, however as we all know that price is not only too low to stick, but it comes no where near the reserve. I'm guessing the reserve price is set at $1000 - $1200

Personally, I think it should only be sold to someone who truly loves the cars. For it to end up in the hands of a collector who will just toss it on the shelf and forget about it till they go to sell it for even more $$$ seems like a shame to me. Like I said though, it's going to take more than $1000 to get over that reserve...

My bid is in for $450 - that's the max I can justify and sadly, I already know it's not even close... I'll be interested to see if this second auction gets past the reserve.

Well, the brochure is back on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=35936

Just a note - the starting bid was $9.99 and in 6 hours, 8 bids have already pushed it to $565.00

The scary thing is - I have some extra cash and I could almost justify buying it this time. Maybe I'll buy it, scan each page, then resell it on Ebay.

= = = = =

The other thing to think about - and it's always been in the back of my mind - is that this brochure was printed when the only McLaren F1 that really existed was the Clinic Model. The photos inside will only have come from that car and we all know it's hardly an accurate representation of the true production car. The lack of this brochures ability to provide anything new to the history that we already know about the production F1s, model variations like the LM & GT, or any GTR race history doesn't make it incredibly appealing to me.

Don't get me wrong though - I'd still love to have it.

Are you certain it was the same brochure though? This is specifically the Lauch Brochure which was given to guests that attended the 1992 Monaco Launch Party.

My mistake. I had the GT brochure.

I have one of these too. I know better than to sell it now...

Well, you're not going to want to hear this either....

There was a GT brochure that sold recently on Ebay for 770£ or approximately $1,283.20 USD.

Maybe you don't want to look:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=35936

We had a thread about it in here started by mini magic when the auciton was active.

I wonder if the seller of this Launch Brochure might have revised his reserve price based on the outcome of that auction. I still can't believe it sold for that much.

There are two sorts of "launch brouchure" so be careful

The one listed in the ebay is the all singing all dancing one. Truley awesome brouchure and I'm thinking of selling mine ay some point. Just trying to decide if I should hang onto it. Its not quite pristine and the cover is faded a little due to sunlight. Not sure when it was produced, but there was well more than 100 of these produced. Easily- in fact IIRC I'm sure i've emailed the guy re-selling this one to tell him that, as all employess got a copy + when it was printed, McLaren did expect to make more than 100 cars. Maybe it was for the Monaco launch, I'm not sure.

Theres also another brouchure, well more of a press release sort of thing that was presented at the actual Monaco thing. This is more of a press release in a wallet with some photos and slides in it. I have the wallet and some slides, but no pics of press release, so dont know what thats all about.

From what I can rememeber, there were some postcards produced as well as the Autocar and Car reprints. and some little one "birthday card" style brouchures once the car was in production. These changed occasionally.

Then in addition to this at least the 96 GTR launch and LM had a press release pack, which consisted of a wallet, sometimes with a pin badge with photos and a press release.

The LM was nice as it has some A4 gloosy card with two or three pics to a page with the F1 LM logo on it
