Angry no more compound!!

I had an order in hlj, and today I've recieved an email that tells me that tamiya is not going to produce more compound so they have removed the item from my order and from the site, they dont know if tamiya is going to produce more, so... as they've told me, if you can buy it in a local store... do it now, maybe compound will disapear, and if its dissapear.... I dont know how I'll do to polish the models. I've just make an order to a local store of 3 tamiya compound, but... I dont know if they have it in stock I hope so.
Either in hobbysearch have compound they have it out of stock months ago, so.... for the all of you that is waiting for hlj to have more compound... forget it

As mention before, there are others available from the likes of Modelers and Hasegawa. Give these a try, i'm sure they are just as good if not better!

This is what's available at HLJ

Mr. Fine Compound Super Fine
Mr. Fine Compound Fine
Modelers - Top Compound 2000
Work - Magical 1 (Liquid Compound)
Hasegawa - Ceramic Compound

Yep, just got my email this morning saying there was no more Tamiya Compound. I am horrified at this moment cause I finally learn how to get the paint job correct and what steps to take and now you cut off the damn tools to do it. Mortified I tell ya ......Mortified

I'll give a try to the other products, but... anyway.. I've ordered 3 more in a local hope, I hope that they have stock, if not... I'll try the other product soon.... But.. eventhough I know that are more abrasive products... which are like tamiya's?? I mean... not liquid, cause I already have novus, and.... without tamiya.... I have to sand too much the model at least until 8000 grip, but with compound, 4000grip or less is enough if its well sanded.

There was a thread about Novus two.

In the posts I think daggerlee or someone else said it's practically equal to Tamiya compound.

YEah and if you can't find the Novus, Maguires makes the same thing, and their cleaner wax is great for removing flaws as well, you can find both at the auto parts store

All i can say is give Meguiar's cleaner/wax a try $5 from wal-mart i say one of the best $5 i spent in the past year. i use dupli-color paint then i use the cleaner/wax and i get a mirror like finish.

Buy it while you can, then sell the compund in a few years, then make millions!!!!

But seriously, I will have to go and buy a couple more tubes, to last me until I find something different.

I've just bought three and they're gonna send it out this afternoon, at least.... I'll have 3 new ones, and the one that I'm using that is at 80% . Of course... I'll have to find a new product to use, dont now what to do, maybe... another compound, novus needs too much sanding and the edges.... you know, they run out of paint if you sand them too much
