rubbing compound

hi guys
i was wondering how to get the white dried up tamiya polishing compound out of tight places on my 32 ford coupe, the vents on the front hood have hardened compound stuck inside them, u picked most away with a toothpick but there is still some there

also has anyone built the tamiya calsonic skyline? does it have an engine?

I have wondered the same thing. I was using a toothbrush to get it out of panel lines while holding the body under running water. I am not sure if the toothbrush will harm the paint or not, so I was doing it gently.

i have built the r34 version of the calsonic, and that has no engine, only what is visible from underneath. As for the r33 and r32, i believe the r33 hasnt got one either, but the r32 does. However, i may be wrong.

I use a tooth pick followed by a toothbrush.
You can use a wet cotton wool bud also.

Only the R32 has "full" engine detail

I wet it down with some lukewarm water and then used something small like a toothpick. The trick is that after you are done rubbing with the compound always wipe the surface down with a soft cotton cloth. Do this even if you can't see any of the compound. That really helps prevent the buildup of the white paste.
