2002 chevy tahoe

A/C not working. No power to low pressure switch. fuses and relays are good. Can somebody help?

so you have no air cooling /no compressor operation. blower fan works. no voltage at the low pressure switch is normal.

with the ac not working ac compressor inop . this is usually a low charge or no charge. check with ac pressure guages what the pressure is at the low side fitting. with ac off and hot out should be 100 psi. if it is using a jumper wire short out the low pressure switch and see if the compressor clutch pulls in. see what the pressure drops to on the low side should hold at 30-40 psi. if it drops down below that you have a leak/need more refrigerent.

if the compressor clutch does pull in with shorting out the low pressure switch with the good pressure at this low pressure fitting then the low pressure switch is defective. just unscrew and replace. no gas will come out.


if you do all this and have pressure and the ac compressor does not pull in then you may have a bad clutch coil. recheck all fuses. measure resistance of the c compressor clutch coil.
