Ferrari 288 GTO

Hello!
This story started abvout a year ago. I bought my favourite Ferrari in a deluxe kit, included metal transfer and KA PEset.

Of course I started with cutting ot the louvers and replaced it with a PE ones. The result was

I tried to glue the pe parts from the upside, But I realised that wouldn't work. So I tried with sheet styrene

but it wasn't better

But there were another parts:

After some weeks that was a point when I put into the box.

Now I have a Crazy's PE set and I restarted the building

it's a lot better

But if somebody buy this kit, DON'T CUT the louvers out! The original plastic better than the PE ones (I haven't belive before that I'll say it once)

Hello!
While I'm preparing the body for the paint I started the assembly of the engine. And I haven't paint about the half of the engine parts...

Re: Ferrari 288 GTO

Looking good, do you have any pics of the body without the pe vents? So we can compare. Eaither way progress looks good, im sure the pe was a pain to put in. Good luck on the rest of the build.

It looks like this one is putting up a fight. You are doing a nice job though. You will get a great deal of satisfaction when you have finished it knowing you got the better of it.

Re: Ferrari 288 GTO

Hello!
I painted the red on the body with Ricebox paint. It used to glue/dry(??) into the bottle, but it can be fixet with Gunze thiner. After it theese're the bets paints that I'v ever used. Dries quickly and it will be a really thin, but strong-colored layer. I had to use ony two layers on GREY surfacer.

Sorry, the pisc are little dar, but my photomachine used to make purple or pink from red when it gets enough light.
