Tps ?
I have a 2000 rodeo, 3.2 V6. It has a 1220 code saying the throttle position sensor is bad. I have sense replaced it with a new one but the code still exist. I have reset the computor by disconnecting the battery a couple times, but upon start re-start the engine light comes back on.. same code.. advise?

Re: Tps ?
I have found with my 2000 that I have to use a code reader to wipe the codes. It takes several days just disconnecting the battery.

Re: Tps ?
P1220 does not mean that the TPS is bad. It means that there is a fault in the TPS circuit. This could be a problem with the TPS or any of it's associated wiring. Just because a code description mentions a part doesn't mean to replace that part.

Re: Tps ?
On further investigation, it come up as air/fuel metering error.. and it came up with a pending code that the engine temp is below normal specs

I'd put my own scanner on it and pay close attention to the snap shot data. Particularly comparing the dash temp reading with the ECM reading. Possible the ECT has shifted or the circuit is shorted. |
