Ferrari 288GTO - Fujimi 1/24 "Enthusiast" kit
A very challenging kit, with more teeny-tiny parts than I've ever seen in plastic before. It does all fit together very well, but I think it would have been easier if I hadn't been working from a slightly started (and slightly broken) bargain kit. However, I've got no complaints about the way it turned out:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The view we're most likely to see - the "overtaking" shot" ![]() A few from a more "realistic" perspective: ![]() ![]() ![]() Everything open: ![]() ![]() And finally, with its older brother. Only one more GTO to go, once Fujimi or Revell get their act together! ![]() All out of the box, painted with Tamiya Italian Red, polished with Novus #2. Crazy Modeller prancing horses and KA bonnet badge... bestest, M. |

Re: Ferrari 288GTO - Fujimi 1/24 "Enthusiast" kit
Thanks, everyone!
Cris... it's just where it's standing on the "infinity curve" to get the "long shot" perspective: ![]() The driver's side front wheel is a little loose thanks to the "screw-in" fitting, and needs to be set properly square when you move the car around... I obviously let it slip when I moved it back up the slope of the backing! bestest, M. |

Hi Matt.. i was wondering that, cause seems that you have skill enough to build a difficult car like this one.
Congratulations... it really looks very nice!! See you |

Really great to see this finished, and it looks fantastic! For all the WIP threads of Fujimi's enthusiast kits, it seems that so few end up as completed threads.

Re: Ferrari 288GTO - Fujimi 1/24 "Enthusiast" kit
and yet another kit that I made a start at but haven't gotten back to it yet.
I think it misses having the black a-pillar and rain gutter(?) above the side windows. Was this an original white body kit or the re-issued red body kit? I've got a couple of the old white body kits and the grey plastic is feeling too soft and fragile compared to more modern kit plastics.

Re: Ferrari 288GTO - Fujimi 1/24 "Enthusiast" kit
Thanks, guys!
Mr DM... this was the white-bodied original. I bought the kit very slightly started at a bargain price in the original issue box. The downside was that a few of the suspension parts had been assembled, out of sequence, which made for some interesting challenges in getting other bits INSIDE them, and also meant that the rear body stays had broken off the chassis in transit. I never could get them back securely and in the precisely the right position, and they came off for the last time as I put the body on... You're right about the A pillar... now you mention it, it's in all my photographs... I thought it was an option! The GTO in my coffee table Ferrari-porn book is a German one, and also has an extended black surround behind the rear "quarter-lights"... on the outside surface of the C-pillar... which is certainly NOT on all of the cars. Interestingly, I have clear profile photos with at least THREE different positions for the wing mirror on different cars, so I guess that must have been chosen by individual buyers. Thanks again for the interest, all... bestest, M. |
